The easiest way is to book directly through our website. Enter your details in the booking form—you’ll immediately see the available rooms at all three properties. You can also reach us by phone or by email at info@appenzeller-hotels.ch. Your booking is confirmed once you receive our written confirmation.

Yes. You’ll always find the best price on our website—the same stay is usually more expensive on booking platforms. That’s why we offer our Best Price Guarantee: If you find the same stay for less elsewhere, simply send us a screenshot to info@appenzeller-hotels.ch, and we’ll adjust the price.

A note on this: Please compare rates for the same booking. A non-refundable rate is always cheaper than a flexible rate that you can cancel for free—this isn't a price difference, but a difference in the terms and conditions.

Cancellations and Changes
Please submit cancellations and changes to us in writing; they are effective only after we have confirmed them. The deadlines listed in your booking confirmation apply. In the event of a cancellation after the deadline has passed, a no-show, or early departure, the full cost of the stay will be charged.

Non-Refundable Rates
Non-refundable rates are excluded from any cancellation or change. The full cost of the stay is due regardless of the timing or reason for the cancellation; no refund is possible, even in the event of a no-show, early departure, or last-minute cancellation. We have no discretion in this matter.

A reservation is considered guaranteed as soon as a credit card guarantee or advance payment has been provided.

How the guarantee is established
– Booking via our website or a booking portal: Your credit card information is automatically stored during the booking process.
– Booking by phone or email: We will send you a secure payment link.

When will I be charged?
– Non-refundable rates: charged in full immediately. Cancellations, rebookings, or refunds are not possible.
– Flexible rates booked through our website: payment can be made on-site at the hotel.
– Flexible rates booked through a booking portal: charged automatically after the cancellation period expires.

Invoicing (Groups, Companies)
– For billing addresses outside Germany, we reserve the right to require 100% prepayment.

We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and TWINT. Unfortunately, we cannot accept WIR money or Reka checks.

Yes. Breakfast is included in all our room rates. All prices are listed in Swiss francs and include VAT and the statutory visitor's tax.

We list optional services such as parking, dogs, or use of the sauna area separately—you'll see them when you book.

Check-in is available starting at 3:00 p.m., and check-out is by 11:00 a.m.

Of course—you’re always welcome to arrive late.

At the Hecht and Löwen hotels, a self-check-in kiosk is available until 11:00 p.m. If you arrive even later, we will leave an envelope with your key for you.

At the Hotel Säntis, the front desk is staffed daily until 9:30 p.m. After that, our restaurant staff will have your key ready for you, and after closing time, you’ll find it in an envelope prepared for you.

Please let us know if you'll be arriving later than 8:00 p.m.—that way, we can take our time getting everything ready for you.

Early check-in is available upon request—just ask. Late check-out is subject to a fee: until 4:00 p.m., we charge 50% of the room rate; after that, 100%.

All rooms in all three buildings are equipped with free Wi-Fi, a TV, and a safe.

At the Hotel Säntis, you'll also find a minibar in your room. At the Hotels Hecht and Löwen, there is instead a shared minibar on each floor, as well as a coffee machine in the breakfast room on the first floor, which you are welcome to use at any time.

Please note: Our historic homes do not have air conditioning.

Yes, our buildings are equipped with an elevator. If you have any special accessibility needs, please contact us before booking—we’d be happy to advise you personally on which room would be the best fit.

Yes, your dog is welcome, provided you let us know in advance. We charge CHF 20.00 per night. Please let us know about your dog when you make your reservation.

Each room category can be booked exactly as described. Simply enter the number of guests and the ages of your children in the booking tool—the corresponding price will be displayed immediately. We consider children and teenagers 13 years of age and older to be adults.

You'll have breakfast in your own hotel—each of the three hotels has its own breakfast room. Breakfast is included in all room rates.
